Chiropractic Adjustment
This is a procedure used to restore proper motion and function to the joints of the body. This can be done using an instrument or the doctor’s hands. This is the cornerstone of the chiropractic profession and what doctors of chiropractic have been trained to do that sets them apart from other professions. Some of the techniques used at our office are Diversified, Activator, Drop Table (Thompson) technique, Flexion-Distraction (Cox), NIMMO (muscle trigger point/soft tissue) technique, as well as several different techniques that assist in muscular, tendinous, and ligamentous healing with the use of hands and instruments.
Laser Therapy
This therapy helps to reduce pain and inflammation, stimulate healing, reduce scar formation, improve vascular function, stimulate cell growth/repair. During the application of this therapy, the patient feels a slight warming of the area as the laser wand is moved around the area close to the skin. This is great for nerve pain, tendon or ligament damage, wound healing, and more.
Rehabilitative exercise
Often injury occurs to areas of muscular imbalance or weakness. We offer advice on exercises that can be done to help you to avoid re-injury to the area of concern.
Dietary and Supplement Advice
If your goal is to get healthier, our doctors have been trained in nutrition and can offer support in the improvement of your diet. Some reasons for inflammation throughout the body could include poor food choices, digestive problems, and/or nutritional deficiencies. Our doctors can assist in finding these issues and assisting you in making dietary changes and possibly adding natural supplements to improve your health and decrease your pain.
Acupuncture(coming soon)
This is an ancient Chinese approach to balancing the body’s energy flow. It is applied through the use of thin needles to strategic areas of the body. It has been known to help a variety of issues including pain, stress reduction, low energy, decreased immune system, and much more.
Dry Needling (coming soon)
Similar to acupuncture, it requires the use of needles to decrease pain. The application of this therapy is centered around the connective and muscle tissues of the body and decreasing trigger points and improving range of motion. It is typically used on people who have sustained a sports injury, have fibromyalgia, or other generalized muscle pains.
Electric stimulation
This is a therapy that uses electricity that is delivered to the painful area through adhesive electrode pads. The machine is set to patient comfort and helps decrease muscle spasm, improve range of motion and circulation, and decrease pain and inflammation.
Ultrasound
This therapy is applied using an ultrasound transducer, which focuses ultrasonic waves into the area. Gel is applied to the skin and the ultrasound wand is moved around the area. The goal of this therapy is to increase blood flow, decrease pain, and accelerate healing. The best applications for this therapy are bursitis and injuries to tendons.
